We all have our own unique way of studying and learning foreign concepts. During undergrad, it took me three years to attend meet-ups with students in my department to prep for exams. I found that using a whiteboard in front of my peers helped me solve problems versus trying to solve on my own in a small desk in the library. I started visualizing the problem in different ways than I had by myself.
Personally, I understand concepts quicker visually. After taking a questionaire that can give you an idea what learner you are, I am a Visual Learning. This made a lot of sense.
